Not long before he was executed, Ustazh Mahmoud Muhammad Taha asked his followers to sing him "Ana Omdurman" (I am Omdurman), the famous song of Ahmed El-Mustafa.. He specifically paused on one verse in that song which says "Oh, Sudan. When the self becomes valueless, I personally present my soul as a sacrifice for you" ... And he just did that with a bright smile in that sunny day of January 18th, 1985, but not before confronting and humiliating the fanatic government and the court that it used as a tool to silence its political opponents.
