China and the Tibetan monks/the 49th uprising aganist China rule...

China's foreign minister called the peaceful rallies an "illegal activity that threatened social stability"....
Spokesman Qin Gang added:"Related departments dealt with the them in accordance with the law."
and this is what they have done....
up to 300 Tibetan monks who took part in in a demonstration near the Tibetan capital Lhansa, have been arrested, they were calling for the release of monks detained last year after the Dalai Lama, was awarded a congressional medal.
witnesses say up to 60 monks were taken at army checkpoint....
Protest were held in Nepal, India and others place to mark the 49th anniversary of an uprising against China.
